Luton Celebrates…
The “Luton Celebrates…” project ran from 2016 – 2018. The programme was a multifaceted initiative designed to honour and celebrate the rich history and cultural significance of Luton.
Through an art installation, documentary, and live performances, the project aims to showcase Luton’s evolution from a small hamlet on the River Lea in the 6th Century to its current status and its aspirations to be recognized as a City of Culture.
The project has received partial funding from the Bedfordshire & Luton Community Foundation as well as the “Big Lottery Celebrates Fund.”
Distinguished guests including the Lord Lieutenant of Bedfordshire, Helen Nellis, and the Mayor of Luton, Cllr Jacqui Burnett, were in attendance, along with local community groups and performers such as Signposts – Team SP, NINE RED Presents…(CIC), Naz Knight, and Savanna Jeffrey.
